147 deli Dublin’s hottest new sandwiches

147 deli shopfront

I met a friend for lunch recently and I fancied a really good sandwiches. We decided to check out 147 deli and I am very glad we did.

147 deli

147 Deli is located on Parnell street in Dublin 1. There is a small shop front with a serving window hatch where you order and collect your food. There are 2 tables outside where you can stop and eat your sandwiches but no seating.

The menu consists of a range of signature sandwiches, a fancy sausage roll served with their featured dip of the week, and a changing weekly special. They also have barista coffee with alternative milk options and some cold drinks.

They’re weekly special is advertised on their socials so you can see what this week has to offer.

Get there early

We got there at about 2.15pm and they had already sold out of most of their sandwiches for the day. We had 2 choices to choose from, the tandoori chicken or the Korean pork. I’d imagine they get busy with the office lunch rush so if you can, try to get there before the office workers.

Our food

We both decided to go for the tandoori chicken and coffee. The sandwiches were โ‚ฌ11 each which is pretty standard for fancy sandwiches in Dublin at the moment.

The tandoori chicken sandwich is served on organic ciabatta with spiced slaw mayo. This wouldn’t have been my first choice if the full menu was available but I was far from disappointed once I got my food.

The bread was so crispy on the outside but still fluffy on the inside. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the slaw was tangly and spicy and it went perfectly together. I want expecting much, some deli tandoori chicken is pretty basic, but this was much more like the kind of chicken you would get at an Indian restaurant.

The food was ready within a few minutes and it was warm and the right temperature for eating right away. The coffee was good too. I just got a regular cappuccino and my friend got a coconut milk latte. We got lucky with the weather, it was sunny and dry so we ate at tables outside

Would I go back to 147 deli?

Absolutely!

But next time I will get there at noon so I can try the Reuban.
